UGREEN Nexode 25,000mAh Review: The 90 Dollar Power Bank That Charges My Laptop

I bought this thing for one reason. I was tired of fighting strangers for the last power outlet at Tan Son Nhat airport. My old 10,000mAh bank could keep my phone alive, but the moment my MacBook dipped below 20 percent I was back to crawling under cafe tables looking for a socket.

So the promise of the UGREEN Nexode 25,000mAh sounded almost too good. 200W of total output, enough to fast charge a 16 inch laptop, for around 89 to 91 dollars depending on the sale. That is half the price of the Anker Prime 300W, which sits at 199 dollars. I have now been carrying the Nexode daily for about a month, so here is where I landed.

The good part first

It actually does what the box says. My MacBook pulls well over 100W from the main USB-C port and charges at basically wall speed. Phone on the second port at the same time, no drama. The little display on the side shows exactly how many watts are flowing in each direction, which sounds like a gimmick until you use it once to figure out why a cable is charging slowly. Then you never want a bank without a screen again.

Capacity in real life: one full 16 inch laptop charge plus roughly half a phone charge, or about three full phone charges with plenty left over. For a weekend trip I do not bring a wall charger at all anymore, I just top the bank up at the hotel.

It is also flight legal. 25,000mAh works out to about 90Wh, which stays under the 100Wh airline limit, and security in both Saigon and Bangkok waved it through without a second look.

What annoys me

Weight. There is no way around physics, and this brick is around half a kilo. In a backpack you will not notice. In a sling bag you will. My other complaint is recharge time, because filling 25,000mAh takes a while even at high input wattage, so this is an overnight habit, not a quick top-up before you leave the house.

And to be fair to the Anker Prime, if you regularly need 300W across three devices, the extra 110 dollars buys you real headroom. I just do not think most people charging a laptop and a phone will ever feel the difference.
